Dr. Sjaarda and Dr. Thompson are very pleased to announce that David E. Baraņano, M.D., Ph.D. has joined them at Retina Specialists. Dr. Baraņano comes to Retina Specialists from the faculty of the Wilmer Eye Institute and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he taught vitreoretinal surgery and led the pediatric retina service in addition to treating the full spectrum of adult retinal conditions. Dr. Baraņano is available to see patients at all three of the offices of Retina Specialists: Towson, Frederick, and our newest office in Columbia, MD.

Since our beginning, we have been in the forefront of treating some very common eye conditions. We have been involved in clinical trials that have led to approval of three major treatments for wet age-related macular degeneration, and we are now enrolling or will soon begin to enroll patients in four more studies.
